Liberate view differences

It's well known that Dutch have a very liberal way of thinking. Some drugs are legal and you may drink alcohol from the age of 16, since you should develop a form of discipline in your life. But there is also another topic that isn't that much lighted in this world and that's sexuality. Dutch also don't make much of a problem about that either. Not that we have sex all the time, but talking about the reproductive organs it isn't that much of a taboo.
Another thing is homosexuality. I'm not gay myself, but know quite some that are. Here in Holland it's very accepted. So much that at high school I know I had 3 teachers (2 female, 1 male) who had a relationship with someone of the same sex. It was never a problem and they would not hide it from the world since it's how they just are.
We even tell children about being gay as a normal thing. As seen in this show (like Bills Cosby's show, a talkshow with children), it's common to know about such things at a young age.

So I was curious how you think about the common idea in your country about this topic. What is it and do you agree with your country's overall thought?
