Playing first at 11.30am on day 6 of the Adelaide heatwave was never going to be a easy task for The Waterslides, yet they took to the stage full of energy and enthusiasm. The handful of people who were foolish (lucky?) enough to get to the Laneway Festival early witnessed a solid set of party tunes from a group that surely are set to do do bigger things this year.
With the mercury tipping 42 by midday it was hard enough to be outside, let alone on the concrete paving in front of the mainstage and by their closing number The Waterslides were playing to a total of 6 people, me included.
