How to remove extra OS from boot menu...

If you have more then one operating system installed or wish
to remove an operating system from the boot menu, you can use the following information.

1.Click on Start, Control Panel, System, Advanced.
2.Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
3.Under Default Operating System, choose one of the following:

"Microsoft Windows XP Professional /fastdetect"
-or-
"Microsoft Windows XP Home /fasdetect"
-or-
"Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional /fastdetect"

4.Take the checkmark out of the box for "Time to display a list of Operating Systems".
5.Click Apply and Ok, and reboot the system.

This oldish computer I bought from my brother had 2000 installed but it didn't work... I didn't know how to stop that screen.... thanks again.

Or if you're using GRUB, edit the file /boot/grub/menu.lst, commenting out or deleting any lines detailing operating systems or kernels you don't want. You could also add the line "hiddenmenu" to make GRUB not show up at all.

Or you could do it via msconfig.

1. Start -> Run
2. Type in msconfig.
3. Click boot tab.
4. Find the other OS you no longer have / don't want. Click on the name of the OS.
5. Click delete.

To remove extra Os from Boot menu One can Use a free to download software EASY BCD 3.

I have used it long back but i know it works fine.
