This probably review for a lot of people who are at least semi-farmiliar with Windows XP.
Thanks for the shortcuts, they helped a lot
Well the shortcuts you supplied are not just bounded to windows XP they are almost for every window version. and they are commonly used It seems like you missed the uncommon ones.
By the way, Shift + delete also permanently deletes an item.
i think those who are more computer competent. will already know about this tricks.
and thks for these nice memory refreshment too.
add Alt + tab for changing address url in IE.
not window but it enable me to use keyword only to surf.
haha
Some alternatives from the ancient days of clipboarding that still work:
Ctl-Ins : copy selected text
Shift-Ins : paste text
Shift-Del : cut selected text
A useful little tip to duplicate a line is to highlight it (that is Shift-Down from column 1 and not Shift-End) and then cut, paste, paste. Cutting kills the selected text area whereas copy would keep it.
Java doesn't seem to support the old style cut and paste combinations, though. That's tough on an ol' timer like me.
As to cutting permanently deleting text; most apps support undo (Ctl-Z) with the side effect of leaving the cut text on the clipboard.
Well here are a couple of others .
while dealing with web pages or documents. pressing the Home button will get you to the start of the page and pressing End button will get you to the end of the page while hitting CRTL+W closes the current window.
