Who has the best chance at winning the stanley cup this year?
I didn't vote because the game is going to be so much different this year, who knows what it will be like.
Philly will be a force with Peter F in their lineup, and I'm a Red Wings fan and its hard for me to say things like this, but it's true. Peter F is the offensive shot of adrenaline they have needed for years, they thought hey had it in Lindros several years back, but ... no. Watch the flyers.
WEST: Detroit
EAST: Philedelphia
WINNER: Flyers ... hate to say it but it's true.

i think the avs still have a good chance even though theyved lost a few good players their still a strong team and thier goalie is really coming along and i think he could live upto the legenary patric roy one day
Lucky the Flyers are in the eastern conference, Western Conference is going to be tough especially the new "capped" version, however we did sign Datsyk which is a very good thing for Red Wing fans.
Don't watch the stanley cup but god how I LOVE watching the czech team, canadian team, the russian team, USA team, finnish and swedish teams, belarussian teams... that means the european championships and the world championships as well as the olympic championships are awesome to watch!!!
i ll vote for Flyers.......

i vote Detroit ...
I love my Canucks and I will tell you WHY they will win this year. First of all, the return of Todd Bertuzzi to the line up after that ugly incident last season is going to be HUGE. Bertuzzi brings grit to the table and the skill needed for an in-front-of-the-net man in Vancouver's Crash-the-Net offense. Secondly, adding Anson Carter to play with the Sedin twins is just another genius act by the GM Dave Nonis. The twins have never really had a rightwinger that is compatible with the cycling game; however, Carter's presence allows a skilled bigger-body behind the net and enables the twins to stick to the boards where they are most adept at controlling the puck. Lastly, Dan Cloutier is going to have a phenomenal year, judging from his numbers the past three years, Cloutier is once again going to repeat his 30+ Win feat, except that he can push his limit even further and might very likely reach a 38, 39 plateau.
Flames
i think phili have got it this year with Peter F now theyve got more chance now even tought they didi amazing last season without him he will help them just engohut to get them fafer i hope
I'm a Toronto fan, but as much as I hate to say it I believe Ottawa has the best team this year..Alfredsson, Heatley, Spezza, and Hasek, that's a pretty tough lineup.
best sport ever
No Bruins fans out there?
I would have to say the top teams right now are Vancouver, Detroit, and Ottawa. I think that defenceman are still struggling to see how to take care of forwards without drawing penalties. Gone are the days where you could be big and shoot a puck, now you actually have to have som skills.
The game has definately changed since last year. Who is going to be watching the Colorado / Vancouver game tonight? I hope it doesn't get too out of hand. Hope Vancouver wins though Go nucks go!

Always a sad day when a team trades their franchise player. Especially to a California team little equasion:
IF you = "Red Wings Fan" THEN california = "BAD"
I love the Devils... but.. why don't the Senators appear on this list?
Dominik Hasek is an AWESOME goalie, and they have excellent players for be a Stanley Cup contender.

That's what I like to hear!
I should cast my vote for the Fkames, but that might jinx my Oilers from winning the battle of Alberta on their way to the cup final. Oilers! Oilers!
The avs arnt going to get the cup. i think they have been starting to do better recently, but they wont win the cup.
GO FLAMES GO!
As much as I'd want the Wild to win it, they are not even qualified for the playoffs yet. I was shocked that Ottawa wasn't listed, except for one informed Toronto fan. Truly informed fans are easy to pick out. Not someone who just picks a team in their area. I vote Ottawa with my head and MN Wild with my heart.
Sorry Scratcher and Xeonony. I missed that you guys put a plug for Ottawa too. Besides Ottawa would be a great host city for the cup. Have any of you been there? It's a great town!
Ottawa-no chance. I would put my money on Edmonton, since Montreal is gone already
it has got to be the oilers. They are in the finals and they are a far more superior team.
