On the bottom toolbar in XP

(the one with the start button on it. what is that called?)

How can I make those icons that represent your open apps have a smaller width?

There isn't an option to change the width, about the only option is to change the program, which will replace the desktop and everything on the bar.

They don't get skinnier automatically when you have more open?

when u open more windows.. its will be automatically adjusted. for example, if you opened only 2 windows, it will be lenghty one. we are not going to do with the remaining space...
