The image is symbolic of how I met the New Year. I had my radio on for loud music, I was drinking beer with friends. We limited ourselves to sparklers since we were already drunk. The notebook in the middle was for taking cell phone numbers.

I pretty much did the same thing to welcome the new year, we had a party at a friend's house, we got drunk, sang a lot, shout like madmen and dance in the middle of the room...
Here's a pic of the 'equipment':
7 friends (including me), about 52 cans of beer, 6-7 vodkas (some of them aren't shown on the pic) and 3 champagnes. ;]

There is no ash tray in this picture? No ash on the table cloth. No cigarette butts around, nor the packs of cigarettes! Did you give up smoking?
Happy New Year, here's to a healthy smoke-free 2009!

It was so cold that I stayed at home when the New Year was coming . I just chat or played games on internet . I didn't play with friends because I don't drink and smok .
I had a sip of Bailey's and then I passed out cause it left a bad taste in my mouth. Before that I posted a few messages on the face book and a friend said i was drunk but i really was not then i was like LOL WAT?
but yeah alone in my basement, its an omen that 2009 WILL be better than 08 annihilate.. cuz its 09 organized CRIME!!!
I rang in the new year sitting with my family on the couch petting my dogs.

I'm going to be honest...
About half an ounce
I was planning on going out and partying with my friends but I pretty much got snowed in and couldn't go anywhere so I spent time with my family for New Years.
A quiet night in with some close friends & music.
Not too exciting, but I might have another one in a year's time!
i welcomed the new year in my dreams going to the dreamland...........
that means i went to sleep .....
.
I spent it with my family. We ate, we ate and ate. Also we made some pictures and watched crappy movies on TV.
I went out partying with friends at a party called Absinthe by Temple Hall Estate. Didnt get there in time for the countdown but it was great none the less. Got home at around 5:30am
I don't know guys how are you but we, Romanians... there was a BIG party on the street (Parliament house) and in every big square of the Bucharest the television networks had parties, concerts, fireworks and so on...
So, let's say in the capital city of Romania were around four/five BIG parties.
I personally went there with my girlfriend, we watched the fireworks and then we got home and eat something, drink and watch a movie...
In my apartment building were parties, loud music, firecrackers on the streets and a lot of drinks.
Last year I spent time in London... at midnight, in my neighborhood, nothing was happening. I was quite surprised about the fact that the streets were EMPTY.
I usually take a glass of wine and go to the street to greet people... in London (Uxbridge area) the streets were empty and very dark.
Well, next year I invite you to Bucharest...
Happy New Year!

You were in the wrong spot of London!!!!! Guess this is exactly like life is. We see one side of a cube, and assume that all the other sides are exactly the same
Be thankful that you were where you were, as it can get quite rowdy in central of London. Pretty much the same as at your home, with a good possibility of being more lively and boisterous ... Enormous count down before the GREAT moment of New Year! And then great party until breakfast time or even longer ...
Went to bed early.... fireworks wind the dog up.... so its better to try and keep everything quiet...

I guess you're right. But I have an excuse: I got the first time to London in November 2007... The New Year was just one month later... I couldn't know in a side of the town is quiet and on the other sides will be rowdy.
And my friends in London (very few that time) didn't tell a word!
I think next year: 2009-2010 I will return to the city just to party in the central part!

The picture was taken quite early, about 8 PM. I couldn't take the picture just before the countdown or during since I was already drunk. The ash tray is not on the table in the picture. They were placed in three spots away from the table.
Listen to the rhythm of the long period FIREWORKS around my house in my bedroom, that's very happy.
my god, I'm so glad that none of my neighbors were having a party. I like to ring in the new year quietly. I have a drink and watch some movies, go to bed around midnight. I like it that way. I like New years because it's not a big deal. It's a laid back holiday.
I for sure love holidays in here, lots of noise all around, people gathered using pyrotechnia, amazing illegalities regarding products and, of course, santa!
I hope next year give us away a new president, a real one, or something that may come in handy when dealing with street security, a real economy management, etc.
Happy 09 to all!

So I guess the tobacco industry in your area must have given a great sigh of relief to hear they are still in business?
Cute Avatar though. Did you create it yourself?
I watched the fireworks from the top of the island, and went home to a friend and played xbox
I stayed at home, rang my friends and family. It was just too cold to go out.
i, some friends and cousins got together with our girls
whent to a disco, danced all night and got little something from our girlfriends
then trew a party at my house
with wine and beers
and spended all night till morning partiying
it was the most awesome new year ever
rock on
We went out to dinner with friends. Then we had some rounds of Mario Kart and watched some of the parties on tv. Watched the neighbors set off some fireworks too.
watchin fireworks
watch tv 'till morning
play computer
then sleep until the next day
this year we didn't spend the new year the usual way (with dad's side of the family). we welcomed new year's eve at home. I actually just went net surfing, doing a 2008 year review and updating my blog. I didn't even watch the fireworks. XD it was weird but not quite sad. somehow, it's also fun cause we got to spend it with a few relatives, mother side, this time around. we went out and played bingo at the mall the actual day.
Met it as I meet every day. =) Nothing special.
Same. Nothing special. I was laying down in bed through the whole thing but i stayed awake for it though. Happy New Year everyone!
I was on a beach. There was champagne and some fireworks. Good times.
I was sleeping/passed out. For some reason I think it has something to do with the amount of alcohol I consumed earlier...
Well i was told numerous times that I was going to be shot if I hurt my fiance by her dad. Overall good times
I was at home, watching beauty and the beast (tv series) with the hubby
I was sat by my little boy's bed, stroking his hair and watching him breathe, thinking about how lucky I am.
For our New Year's party, we have a tradition of "taking out the old year", and "bringing in the new year". Once there's about ten seconds left on the clock, everybody has to go wait outside, and as soon as the ball drops, we all go crazy with the noisemakers and champagne and celebrating and whatnot. Then, after that, we're allowed to go back in. There's some tradition thing over who has to go back in first, but I can't remember how it's figured out.
This year, it was freaking cold for the countdown, and half the champagne probably spilled from my glass just from shivering too much...
Party at a friends house - actually only 4 people in the beginning. But was really nice, as it was close friends... There we had the whole thing going with lobster dinner, music and champagne.. Later we went to an all-girl party, where I kinda went after this one chic I'd wanted for some time. That didn't work out, so I ended up with some stranger, which was pretty nice I guess...
All in all a great evening..
I've... fallen asleep before 11 pm.
And I don't remember even a single thing... It was horrible.
I was sleeping. That sounds soo fun now that I think about it.
