Namecheap. and 123 reg

No reason as to why,123-reg was the first one i used and .co.uk domains were cheap. (Also it looked legit as i had seen an ad on TV for it with David Hasselhoff in it,so the Hoff made the decision for me)

namecheap because TLD's like .net and .com were quite expensive on 123 reg at the time.

I have never bought a .com as they are usually twice the price of a .net,having said that i have just checked up on namecheap and they are currently the same price as a .net,which is just under $10 a year, which i think is a fair price. So in future given the choice between .net and .com i would go with the .com subject to availability.

My preference 1. .com, 2. .net, 3. .pk (my country's tld).

2. How many different TLDs do you register with your primary domain?

This depends upon the idea of the business and preferences of the management. If you want to serve all countries with native servers, buying domains of each country may be an options.

3. How many different similar domains do you register?

I would like to register atleast three-four extra domains like gameforfun.com , gamesforfun.com , games4fun.com , game4fun.com etc , only if i have surpluss funds. This really is not necessary if you largely use socialbookmarking service or have lots of backlinks. Only need to such domain arises when the user types the domain name with his hands (and mistypes or forgets).

.com / .net and .be

2 to begin with, a TLD of my country (.be) and an international one (.com or .net)

Also begin with one (the normal site name) and then when the site is up and running and you get visitors and maybe some money from ads you can buy extra similar domains.

3. How many different similar domains do you register?

2 or 3, for example, the address of my gaming community is quebec-supremacy.net but I'd also register qsgaming.net or qsgaming.ca

GoDaddy, never got any problem in the past with them and they offer great prices (when using rebates codes)

I know that the "fixed" price for most domain names is around 10$ but I think 7-8$ would be a better price. (I've paid my .net 5.99$)

By the way, you made a mistake in the questions' numbers Wink

I only have one preference. .com, to keep it simple and easy to remember. People from other countries can get .co.uk wrong. .com also looks more authentic than .org.

I would not register any other. Too complicated, keep it simple.

None, for the same reason as for 2 and to keep it less costly. Better to keep the domain name as short and simple as possible, so there is no need to register other domains.

I would do it through a Website Host. They are usually well organized, may link it with a special deal package that is negotiable, and some are really good, they will remind you when your domain needs to be renewed. Which of course you would then be responsible for but at least you are reminded.
You can probably make a research, but this is the one we are using and are very happy with:

41 US $ - refer to FAQs in URL above (USA - Domain Registration), which is quoted in Cdn. The Website host I recommended does bulk buying and apparently that brings the price down.

You put 3 down twice; it should look like this:

  1. Item 1
  2. Item 2
  3. Item 3
  4. Item 4
  5. Item 5
Smile; sorry not to take your offer
