can I delete my .frih.org "subdomain"?
since I will only be using my own .com domain, can I simply delete the it?
will that mess my FTP?

It's better not to remove it. If you remove it, all the options with your subdomain will stop working. Also, if you decide to host your domain elsewhere or it doesn't work, you still have a something to use for testing and the like.
