GIMP for Screenshots using Windows

Ya know how easy it is to take screen shots on Linux? <"Print Screen"> Well, it's not that easy when you're a long time Linux user, and you're forced to use Windoze!
All this 'Clip Board' crap! I found an easy way. If you have GIMP installed, just go to 'File>Acquire>Screen Shot'.

Yea, you can also do a Print Screen and then ctrl+v into Word, Paint, Gimp or pretty much any other application running inside Windows.

I too am a Linux user and prefer the Printscreen applications in Gnome and also use Gimp when I am in Windows, so thanks for the tip!!!

Linux: scrot
Windows: Print Screen, IrfanView

No need to fire up a huge application like GIMP... wasting CPU time and memory.

Guess that kinda depends on what you are doing with the screen capture, doesn't it? Wink

I do like IrfanView - used it when I used Windows.
