people have been telling me about my site www.anime-fx.net that the background and layout are very distracting anyone have any ideas on this.

the design is great ...but ...yeah the background is very destracting...i think you should make it on a center...and then use mybe a plain background...you can do that on CSS.... Surprised

i like ur pics..

its a nice layout.. clean, simple, but nice..
a few points for imporovement:

1. center your site
2. make the header a bit smaller.
3. and the background is too white i would make it an very light grey..
4. remove the ads i hate it if people have ads on their sites, buttons are ok..

maybe you can check your page with errors, it says in the status bar "Done, but with errors on page". Probably a javascript error.. and change your background to a much simple background possible, the stripe thing is kinda not comfortable in the eyes of your audience.. place your layout in the center screen..

You do have to center your main page. And the background, you can just opt for a simple background like plain white or plain gray to emphasize the main page. Smile

The diagonal stripes does not compliment your main page's design that's why maybe others think the layout is annoying. But the layout of the mainpage, its easy to navigate and its clean. Something that most Anime sites lack these days. Smile
