If you're going to use one, I'd go .co.nr. Try pronouncing .co.cc >_>
Xaferrow
yeah, maybe .co.cc is hard to pronounce. bt it seems more easier to remember.

i'm using the domain : co.cc I thinks domain co.cc is better than co.nr.
when you using co.cc, you can change your DNS.
ti's very usefull, do you thinks so??
the-guide
Yeah, co.cc support fully DNS Service it works nearly like TLD.
However, register for new domain name is not expensive nowadays why not use TLD instead.
FunDa
co.nr has a redirection only right ?

co.cc has IP,MX, CNAME, and redirect.
But which is more reliable ? And will they suddenly ytake over your domain name one fine day ? Laughing Like if I make the next google in a co.cc site ?
mtorregiani
co.cc is way better because you can change your DNS settings.
.co.nr is just a redirection service.

Is that free ?

.co.cc sounds kind of funny Laughing , while co.nr sounds better. But facility wise co.cc is better, What about .com.tr. Is that one with all these DNS facilities ?
sonam
I think com.tr is not free. Look here:

Actually I don't like any type of free domain but if you need it for some fun and friend site then you can use it. If you think to build some profesional site and you want to make money then buy your domain. Otherwise, you will come in trouble ones you want to change your domain from co.cc to .com, .net (you will lose your page rank, visitors from "Favorites" will not find your site, etc.).

.cc is registered for Cocos Islands (Aus).
So that's another island TLD whose corporate second-level domain is offered free by co.cc

I dont use a Mac personally but I know they are good for media production suites like all of Adobe. If all the Industry professionals use Mac's with Adobe software then I would think they are good for something.

everything about .co.cc is better than .co.nr Very Happy

I use .co.cc no troubles as of yet totally free, I just hope they won't suddenly say OK It's not free no more!
FunDa
There was a site with offered free .com and.net domains for blogs completely free.

I got a message from them, forgot which one it was. Could be a scam , not sure

Co.cc is better than co.nr in any consideration.

Now, why?

Co.cc support totally free DNS management. Co.nr don't support this.

Co.cc don't ask linkback, but if you don't linkback to co.nr from your site, they will suspend your account.

Co.cc have affiliate programs, co.nr don't have this.

Recently Co.cc opened payment gateway option. Is it not good? You can even earn money by selling your free co.cc domain.

I have a site with co.cc with more than 1 years and really don't faced any problem. I like it!
sajeebr
both give free domain name but they possess vast difference in them. co.nr is only a URL redirection service, it only redirects your some long domain and you have to put the advertisements on your home page "visible" to others. But co.cc is great they support CNAME, MX, DNS and obviously URL redirection. But you might have to struggle a bit because co.cc also sell domains, so all the domains are not free. They have asked as low as $1 to some hundred dollar. But it is for premium domains only.

But will they suddenly stop the free service and tell that all our sites now belong to them

That would be a real bummer.
Especially if you spent a lot of time and effort to build your website and then built up a goood SEO.

All your search engine rankings and userbase would be lost for ever.

Can they so that ?

Can we fight back under any legal terms ?
