1. I would lend you some money, but I hadn't had any.
2. I would have lent you some money, but I hadn't had any.

Which sentence is correct? I thought both were right. But why only "would have lent" should be used here?

/EDIT: "Would have lent" is conditional, "would lend" not, that's why the second one is correct.


Like this: I would have given you this cookie, if it wasn't for my addiction for which I kept it for myself.

The second one is correct.
Sentence one is present, so it hast to be "I would lend you some money, but I don't have any".
