Ok so this may seem at first like quite an odd question. I need to design a relatively simple website template for my project at college. Got quite a good basic knowledge of HTML (all I've ever needed really) but all my templates (aka: josso.co.uk) have been hacked together from free templates on the Internet. I'll just get a base idea then mess about with it severely until I like the look of it. I've done stuff from scratch before but not quite to this extent, usually just text and images. By the way I'm using Dreamweaver MX.
This is what I'm trying to achieve. It seems if I just use tables I can't put two boxes next to each other without messing up the alignment and div's on position:absolute depend on the resolution if they are centred or not. Argh, can someone suggest a simple way (with a minimal amount of idea) to do EXACTLY the design idea above? It seems really odd this but I guess I've never really started from such a base level before and gone through with it.
Cheers.
