Short description: Writer's Desk is a collection of resources for K-12 teachers, the personal blog of a first year urban educator, and a portfolio of published writings on diverse topics.

Long description: The Writer's Desk is a resource for teachers. As a K-12 educator, I feel that collaboration is important. If I find a useful resource online or create a useful lesson plan, I would rather share it with other educators than let it be used only in my classroom. One purpose of the site, then, is to publicize useful resources that I have found useful and to share lesson plans that I have used in my classroom. This is also a personal blog about my experience as a first year educator in an urban district in New Jersey. It is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to having a great year, but I'm sure it will also be cause for much grumbling. Look forward to discussions of topics pertaining to urban education.
