Essay competition: New Year's resolutions

Competitions

Competition description

Describe your New Year's resolution(s). The most original/unique/interesting one wins the competition.

Notes:
* Please choose a title that describes the resolution, not just "My New Year's resolution".
* Also, please select the forum that would be the most suited for your resolution(s). Like the Health forum if you want to quit smoking.
* The essay description is used mostly for other users to know what your essay is about and to make sure write about a different topic. With this resolutions this isn't that important although it would be better if everyone chooses different resolutions.
* The essay title, description and forum are not able to be changed after choosing them (you'll need to contact me if you really want to change them). The actual essay is of course editable until the deadline.
* Finally, please note that the deadline falls in the middle of the day most likely, not at midnight considering everyone is in a different timezone.

How to create Realistic Action-Based New Year's Resolutions (will eventually appear as a topic in the General Chat forum) (Created by deanhills)
It is easy to make a New Year’s Resolution. Everyone can do that. For example, I can say this year is the year I am going to start my own internet business, or this year is the year that I am going to get out of a job I don’t like, or this year is the year I am going to lose weight. None of that is going to happen if I don't create realistically achievable action-based New Year’s Resolutions, if I don't make the necessary changes in my lifestyle that support those Resolutions, and if I don't make a continuous effort to motivate myself and keep myself motivated to make those changes. This essay discusses effective guidelines for creating and implementing realistically achievable action-based New Year’s Resolutions.

Is it really new? (will eventually appear as a topic in the History forum) (Created by Humanista)
In China, one year is 354 days. The Jewish calendar may have 12 or 13 months, according to moon moves. The 2011° year is our way to count our time, but... what we do with "our" time? The hope is a better life in the place where we live in each new year. Or better to myself (yourself) in the miserable hope. The time is wear out when the hopes is empty. When the promises fail. And when we lie to us. Not purposeful, but anyway have consequences. So, what we do with hopes and promisses? Do nothing? Yes, we do it - moves the world! What I saying is: know what came before, see how our place was, who you was. The future without the past is a fantasy on which we fall without parachutes. We don't have control and will hurt. Only this have importance to construct the new year with our hopes. Sources: wikipedia.org Sorry about my english!
